KARACHI
It was 1976. I was 10 years old when I first landed in Karachi, Pakistan where my father was assigned to work there. It was also the place where I first took up photography. As a foreigner, we lived in a huge house but there was a river and a slum right behind where I would roam around alone and photograph with my Olympus Pen F. As a kid, I was somehow able to blend in and feel the love and curiosity of my neighbors. I realized that even though they lacked material things, their hearts were never poor.
